PSB systems have saved many lives and many buildings from serious damage as a result of underground car park fires. Unlike traditional ducted systems, PSB impulse systems control smoke and actually cool fires as a result of high airflows and advance warning detection systems.

A main extract fan controls the flow of air through the car park and addictional 'impulse' fans control the direction of the air, and hence smoke in the event of a fire. This allows emergency services to gain clear access to fires and work within a few metres of the fire source to bring the situation under control.
